Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost of membership?

Spring semester dues of $30 are due by February 20th, 2024 at 11:59 pm to @SDSUWIB on Venmo. There will be an additional $5 fee for late dues to be paid by March 5th, 2024 at 11:59 pm.

Are all majors allowed to join?

Women in Business welcomes ALL majors, ages, and genders to the organization, as inclusivity is our biggest priority. We encourage those who are interested or majoring in Business Administration as well as those passionate about increasing their professional skills to join our organization.

When are WIB meetings?

General Body Meetings are held in ENS-280 at 6 pm every other Tuesday of the semester, beginning February 13th, 2024.

SDSU has permitted student organizations to meet in person given they follow current guidelines provided by SDSU’s Covid Policies/The Health Department. Our executive team has decided to continue providing General Body Meetings on select Tuesdays throughout the semester at 6 pm in person, COVID guidelines permitting. The executive team will offer a virtual option for those with class/work conflicts and submit a conflict form.

More information on specific dates will be posted on our Events page, or you can follow our Instagram (@sdsu.wib) for updates!

Can I join even if I don’t attend SDSU?

Yes! SDSU Women in Business is open to all students attending SDSU, as well as neighboring community college students, as long as they are interested in or majoring in Business Administration.

What is the weekly time commitment?

Members are expected to complete their requirements of attendance, participation, completion of certificate/SDSU workshop, and networking to be considered active members which typically amounts to only 1-3 hours a week. We encourage all of our members to go above and beyond the point requirements and attend as many general body meetings, socials, and collaboration events we host throughout the year. You will get out of WIB as much as you put in!

How often does SDSU Women in Business recruit members and how many members do they accept?

We recruit members at the beginning of each Fall and Spring Semester. The membership application and membership costs are due by the second GBM of the semester.

As we uphold ourselves as an inclusive and diverse organization, SDSU Women in Business does not cap how many members we accept each semester. We encourage everybody who might be interested in professional development and personal growth to apply to our organization.

In order to be accepted as a member, 1.) the membership application needs to be completed, and 2.) membership dues need to be paid on time, or at least by the late-fee deadline.

Can I get refunded my membership dues?

Membership dues can not be refunded as they are used for membership perks and what we have in store for the semester. Please refer to our ByLaws for more information.
