What is the Internship Program?

Under the internship program, each hired intern will shadow and assist members of either the operations, finance, or marketing team throughout the Spring 2025 semester.

If accepted as an intern, this does not guarantee being elected into the officer position or team (if one were to run for an election for the following school year). However, it is highly recommended to apply for the internship program if you are interested in being on the executive board in the future.

Experience.

The purpose of this program is to allow our members to practice their leadership skills and provide them with first-hand experience with leading an organization.

Growth.

This is perfect for members interested in running for an elected office for the next term, students who want to gain leadership experience, as well as those who strive for self-improvement.

Involvement.

Members can stay in the loop and be involved with the organization while gaining skills and lessons to apply to the workforce or professional settings.

Which team should I shadow?

Interns will assist and learn from all current executive members on the team they applied for.

How big of a commitment is interning for WIB?

The executive board recognizes that academics and school-related work comes first, which is why the internship program is a fairly low time commitment.

The workload interns will have will depend on what each team has on their agenda for the week. As interns become more familiar with the different positions on their assigned team, executive members may assign more tasks for interns to complete.

Eligibility

All dues-paying WIB members who will reach active member status in the Fall semester are eligible to apply for the Women in Business Internship Program!
